“Where Is the Nine-Tailed Fox?”  is the newest children’s picture book that I am currently working on. It is written for children between the ages of 3 and 5 in a tone and pace similar to “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” and “Where is the Green Sheep?”

It has a straightforward and repetitive structure that will be easy to follow for children of young ages.

Who is illustrating it?

This is the first book that I am illustrating as well as writing. Currently, the writing is in the proofreading stage as it simply needs some minor grammatically tweaks to really tighten up the phrasing. I’ve started doing the outlines for the pages in the book.

When will it come out?

As I am also the illustrator of this new picture book, it means that the release date depends on several factors, such as:

1. How quickly can I get the outlines for all the pages done?

2. How quickly can I create a book dummy that is to scale?

3. How long will it take me to hand draw AND paint each individual page or vignette in the book, including the cover?

4. How long will it take me to edit, format and typeset the entire book?

Also, I work a full-time job in education so my time outside of work is limited and will impact how long each stage of the process will take me.

I believe that in the best case scenario, I could have the book fully completed and formatted by late 2024 to early 2025. 

I will be releasing other books in that time that will be illustrated by others.
